There is an obvious need to raise awareness on Premature Ejaculation because many affected patients/couples are suffering in silence.

The “Not just a moment” idea came about as a result of this very clear and simple fact.

Premature Ejaculation (PE) is the most common sexual dysfunction in males < 60 years -  1 in 5 men (according to the DSM-IV definition) report PE -  yet it is one of the most under-diagnosed and undertreated male disorders.
Millions of men and their sexual partners face this problem with all the related frustration it causes for the sexual life and partnership. They feel often ashamed, embarrassed or stressed because they feel at the mercy of the situation and don’t know how to deal with. Therefore, instead of seeking actively professional /medical help they avoid to present at a doctor's practice and behave as if the problem just doesn’t exist or seek unprofessional help in sex shops.

If somebody is unaware that Premature Ejaculation is a medical problem and that there are viable solutions, it isn’t very likely that they will seek a doctor’s help. Therefore men suffering from PE avoid the possibility of bettering the quality of their sexual lives and obtaining the healthy and satisfying relationships they deserve.

We know a great deal more on Premature Ejaculation than we did ten years ago. Meanwhile, we have the appropriate tools and solutions to significantly improve PE couple's sexual life. Many of the doctors, but not all have become much more familar with a Premature Ejaculation patient’s needs. We are more aware of their difficulties and are sensitized to their needs. And we are in the favorable position to offer them individually tailored solutions

There is still a dramatic need to raise much more awareness about the impact of Premature Ejaculation on patients'/couples' partnership and life quality. Representative studies have shown that only 9% of men suffering from PE present at a doctor's office and seek medical help. These discouraging data show, that at present too many men and couples are still convinced that Premature Ejaculation is either not a medical condition or they are not aware that there are satisfactory solutions available.

Our-the medical and public domain's responsibility is to fully encourage them to seek professional help.
This is exactly what Not just a moment” wants to do, by proclaiming these simple yet crucial messages to the largest possible number of men with Premature Ejaculation and to their partners:

  • Be not ashamed, you are not alone, Premature Ejaculation is reported by 1 in 5 men
  • Do not ignore or deny your problem, take action instead; you and your partner deserve a better sexual life because Premature Ejaculation can successfully be treated
  • Do not feel embarrassed to talk to your doctor about your problem: it is a medical condition that needs to be addressed if you (or your partner) are suffering. There are solutions available that can really improve your quality of life as well as your sexual relationship.
